Reviews 5: Suburbicon, Snowman, Wheelman, Florida Project, and more!

Seven new films are on the docket this episode. In addition to the ones in the title, I also go over Professor Marston & the Wonder Women, Same Kind of Different as Me, and Breathe!

Review #58: Geostorm

Kick up your feet and relax in front of the newest disaster movie. Gerard Butler and Jim Sturgess are here to try and prevent global storms from destroying everything (spoiler: it doesn’t go smoothly). Plus, the Week 8 update to the Cinereelists Fantasy Movie League.

Review #57: Columbus

This new film might be hard to come by, but I think it’s worth seeking out.

Review #56: Trophy

This new documentary dives into the world of conservation in Africa, focusing on Rhinos, the Big Five, big game hunting, and much more. Also, the Cinereelists FML League.

Review #55: Blade Runner 2049

There’s a new sci fi blockbuster in town directed by Denis Villenueve. Today I deep dive into Blade Runner 2049, as well as touching on the three short films leading into it.

Spoilers start at 33:13.

Review #54: American Made

A fairly brief review of the new Tom Cruise-Doug Liman film, American Made, then a look in at Week 5 in the Cinereelists FML League.

Review #53: Battle of the Sexes

The patreon is now up to date on the new costs and tiers. Today’s episode goes from Battle of the Sexes to feminism in film.

Review #52: Lego Ninjago and Kingsman: The Golden Circle

Two new movies came out this weekend. One is a big sequel; the other is a franchise spinoff. I felt somewhat similarly about both of them.

RetroReview #4: Beauty and the Beast (1991)

This animated classic was back in theaters and what better time to talk about it given the live action film came out earlier this year?

Reviews 4: Mother!, American Assassin, 9/11, Home Again

Another cluster of reviews for today’s episode. Four more recent releases, including this past weekend’s wide openings.

Edit: It appears the audio for this episode cuts out periodically. The issue doesn’t look like it can be resolved. I apologize as I only just noticed this issue. I doubt I can remember enough of what I was talking about to fill in all of the gaps, but if I find the time this weekend, I might edit the audio and fill in where I can enough to make the episode listenable, at the very least. I’m sorry!

Reviews #3: Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, Laser Mission

Two movies that someone somewhere considered to be “Sci Fi Classics,” including a film that involves a robotic trump card defeated by the way someone refers to it and a film that isn’t even science fiction.

Review #51: It

It’s here, It’s big, It’s scary, and It’s going to do gangbusters at the box office. Previews on Thursday were 13.5 million, a record for horror, September, R-rated films, and Stephen King. Here’s my review.
